The Dam

Today when we got home after school, there was some blue sky, and the boys just stayed outside and began to play in the area that one of our yard drainage pipes spills out.
They were out there for quite some time, and created a masterpiece!

Love those boys and their creativity. They worked really hard.

It brought me back to the days of my childhood, playing outside after school or in the summertime, when the days seemed to last forever and there was never a care in the world!

I can remember as a child the fascination with moving water. It is always a favorite at the beach as well, to dam up the streams that flow into the ocean! What is it about water that draws us in?

Good job on the dam, boys!

Taking Down Christmas

Wow. I can't believe it has been well over 7 months since I have posted to this blog. I guess I figure that everyone see's what they want to on Facebook, and so there really isn't the need to keep things up here.

One of my goals this year, however, is to keep up with the boys a little better and to not only post pictures here, but write a little as well as to keep a journal of sorts of all the goings on of the kids.

Yesterday, being Saturday, and having nothing on our schedule except for the Pinewood Derby Car weigh-in, we tried to get as much done around home as we could.

The boys went out with Kerry to tackle getting the Christmas lights off the house and out of the yard. They got it all done and did a great job. I think Cody had the best time. He definately takes after his dad, and works really really hard at whatever task is in front of him.

Just thought I would share a few pictures that I went out and snapped as they were working on the lights!

Kellan

Wow.
It has been a while since I have posted on this blog. I guess I have a boatload of stuff going on lately.

Just wanted to share some pics of Kellan. Mostly because this will force me to down load all the pictures we have taken since he born onto the computer. This digital world has ruined me. In the old days, I used to develop my pictures and then label them and put them in organized boxes to be placed in albums or scrapbooks at a later time. Now they just sit on my computer (if I'm lucky) for years before I get around to even printing some out. Most the time you can find them still on my camera months later. Sad, I know.

Baseball Boys

Hey all! Just thought I would share some pictures of the baseball boys! This season is so busy, now that Sam is playing too! I'm just happy I decided to keep Cody and Dylan on the same team for one more year. I couldn't imagine having 3 different teams to keep up with, and with the baby coming (hopefully sooner than later) it's going to get even crazier!
Sam's team is the Red Sox, and Cody and Dylan are the Mariners this year - how cool is that! I'm just hoping that the weather gets a bit warmer....it's been awful cold sitting at practices and games!

A First Grade Valentine Party

Here are a few pictures of Dylan's Valentine Party. The kids had a lot of fun. Sam was able to go as well, and had a lot of fun hanging out with big brother, Dylan, and making his own Valentine cookie as well.

Pinewood Derby

Here are some pics from Cody's first Pinewood Derby. He was so excited! His poor little car did not win even one race, but you wouldn't have been able to tell by looking at Cody! He was so happy just to be there and participate! It made me very happy as a mother. Isn't that what we teach our kids.....that it's not about winning or losing, it's about having fun and gaining experiences? Well Cody was a perfect example of that Tuesday night......I couldn't have asked for more!
